Company Profile:
Artech was started up in 1973, designing and manufacturing special-purpose electronic instruments and other professional electronic equipment for a wide variety of customers and applications. From 1980 onwards the orientation shifted towards standard products, while custom design operations continued. Artech was founded in Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1973 by a group of US trained electronic engineers to meet the special needs of Indian industries and other users of scientific and professional electronic equipment. The range of products developed was wide and varied, as were the customers and applications. These included IBM India, Indian Space Research Organisation, Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Hindustan Lever Ltd., Siemens (India) Ltd., besides a host of others.
