Overview
Amazon.com Deadline Event Warehouse (DEW) team is looking for software engineers to design and develop highly scalable software solutions. The DEW team provides a platform, and frameworks to track and monitor the performance of various systems at Amazon that are involved in the process of inventory planning, and customer order fulfillment. We design solutions to efficiently process and store extremely large amounts of data, and provide UIs to provide fast and usable insights into the data. We are planning on taking our systems to the next level by using 'Cloud' technologies for efficient storage of data, and using data-mining technologies to be able to take proactive actions.
We extensively use Java, Oracle and GWT technologies to develop our systems, and use multi-threaded and distributed software-design architectures. As a software developer, you'll be involved in all the phases of software development: design, coding, testing and maintenance.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field
1-3 years of industry experience
Solid experience in C++ or Java
Basic Knowledge of databases and SQL
Familiarity with a Scripting language like Perl or Ruby is a plus
Experience with UNIX or Linux
Solid understanding of objected-oriented design concepts
Familiarity with Web technologies is a plus
Sharp analytical skills and strong CS fundamentals
